The Balassi Institute announces a scholarship program for its 2026 Summer University. The aim of the call is to enable participants of the Balassi Summer University, through the awarded scholarship, to improve their Hungarian language skills and deepen their knowledge of Hungary. Through the awarded scholarships, students would study the Hungarian language intensively in high number of class hours and become familiar with the past and present of the Hungarian society. In addition, participants take part in extracurricular programs.
Eligibility criteria:
· persons who will have reached the age of 18 by the start of the program, are of Hungarian origin, hold the citizenship of a Member State of the European Union, and do not fall under the scope of Act LXII of 2001 on Hungarians Living in Neighbouring Countries;
and
· persons who will have reached the age of 18 by the start of the program and are of non-Hungarian origin with foreign citizenship.
